“Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one’s lifetime.” – Mark Twain

I had been bitten by the travel bug quite early during my childhood and as the years go by, this so-called disease had evolved into one which appears to be incurable. Not that I mind it…

It all began with my father’s deep affinity for adventure as he is a self-proclaimed explorer. He was and still to this day, innately curious about the world and hence naturally, he passed his passion for traveling and adventures down to his children.

Growing up, whenever we find ourselves on the verge of planning family trips, dad stood firm and avoided travel tour packages like they were the plague.

Instead, he would excitedly encourage us to partake in selecting the activities and sights that we would like to experience and for that, I am forever grateful.

Since then, I’ve been fortunate to have had the privilege of exploring much of what our vast and beautiful world truly has to offer yet the more I see, the more it dawned on me that there’s so much more of the world that I have yet to experience.

Nevertheless, I deeply acknowledge of how much travel has given me: an abundance of knowledge, insights, wisdom, inspiration and plenty more that I would not have otherwise gained had I not step out of my comfort zone by discovering the unknown.

Admittedly, at times, there’s bound to be some parts of travel that some, including myself, can find daunting. But at the end of the day, I’ve come to the conclusion that the sheer joy and excitement of adventure seems to always trumps that fear.

Here, I would like to share with you a selection of enchanting words of wisdom on travel that will undoubtedly to spark your inner wanderlust and will have you planning your next adventure of a lifetime.

It’s a big world out there, go explore it! Bon voyage!
