“Life, he realize, was much like a song. In the beginning there is mystery, in the end there is confirmation, but it’s in the middle where all the emotion resides to make the whole thing worthwhile.”
― Nicholas Sparks
Can you imagine a life without music?
If someone were to ask me this question, I would say “no” in a heartbeat and without any hesitation.
For as long as I can remember, I have always been enamored and adored music so a life without music, is simply unimaginable.
Everyone has their favorite music genres along with their preference of artists. Yet with all the variety of music out there, we could all agree that music is truly something magical.
No matter our background, music is universally relatable. We can always rely on music to understand us even at times where we simply can not put our emotions into words. As Johan Wolfgang von Goethe, a celebrated German writer, said “Music begins where words end“.
It is no surprise that many people turn to music when they feel less than stellar as music has the power to soothe and to transform our mood.
Science appears to back this claim, a 2012 study conducted by University of Missouri found that when people are experiencing elevated negative emotions such as anger or sadness, listening to music can slow down their heart rate, providing them with a calming & therapeutic effect.
No matter how we’re feeling – whether we find ourselves on top of the world or down in a rut, music never fails to inspire and make us feel better – it is a potent medicine of the soul. For this reason, I believe that music is an indispensable gift.
With that, here’s a selection of words of wisdom that reflects upon the almighty power of music. I hope that it inspires you to never take the wonderful gift of music for granted. Enjoy!

Hello again 🙂
Nice to see you write about this subject. I can’t live without music, and I keep it on every day while I work. Especially at home. Usually, music without lyrics, since my brain start wagging its tail wanting to start analyzing the meanings.
Hope you don’t mind I share a blog post with you and your readers. Because a few weeks ago, I wrote about “Powerful meditation for sleep on stressful days.” In that post, share two methods. One using sound. And I tell a story about a girl who was exposed to the vibration of a Tibetan singing bowl. The sound and vibration from it made her burst out crying.

The music has an enormous effect on us. And choosing the right music is very important.
