“Face it till you ace it…”

– Unknown

Chances are, at some point in our lives, there have been some situations where we feel as if we have no clue what we’re doing.

Yet, we somehow managed to find ourselves ‘selling’ an idea, a project or an or a skill (possibly thrown together at the last minute) with such conviction that others end up buying into it.

At times, such scenarios can leave us feeling as if we’re an impostor – as if we’re projecting ourselves to be an expert yet in reality, we’re just figuring it all out as we go along.

Truth is, each one of us has experienced at least one of these moments. Keep  in mind that as long as you do not  explicitly ‘fake it’ with the intention of deceit or harm to others, being able to appear confident in situations that would normally terrifies you is actually quite a valuable asset.

It’s definitely a useful skill to be able to walk in to a room and project confidence when you feel as if you’d much rather run away and hide under a rock.

As difficult as it is to believe, no matter how perfectly ‘put together’ one may appears, no one really has it all together.

We’re ALL just trying to grow our wings as we leap into the cliff that is life. That said, I admit that some are better at ‘faking it’ than others.

Let me be clear, ‘faking it’ in this scenario, isn’t being inauthentic or pretending to be someone we’re not. Rather, what I’m referring to is the ability to gather up the courage at a moment’s notice to face a challenge head on despite the nagging (sometimes crushing) insecurities, fears, and doubts.
